H2-Safety Hub was founded in 2026 by four industrial safety veterans who saw the same gap from different angles: hydrogen is moving from laboratory to industrial scale, and the safety toolset has not kept pace.
The four of us spent decades on the frontlines of oil and gas safety — at NLNG, in OPTS committees, on EPC sites across Africa and Europe. We have seen what mature safety culture looks like, and we have seen what its absence costs.
Hydrogen now stands where natural gas stood forty years ago: a fuel with extraordinary potential and unfamiliar physics. The frameworks built for hydrocarbons do not translate. The professionals trained for them do not yet exist at scale. And the consequences of getting it wrong are uniquely severe — flames are invisible, ignition energies twelve times lower than gasoline, embrittlement compromises the metals we have always trusted.
H2-Safety Hub exists to close this gap — not as a generic HSE platform retrofitted with hydrogen modules, but as a system built from the ground up around the physics, the regulations, and the workforce realities of green hydrogen.
Founders independently observe hydrogen pilot projects struggling to adapt oil-and-gas HSE frameworks to H₂-specific risk profiles. Initial conversations begin around a shared diagnosis.
Business plan finalized. Registration on F6S and SeedBlink. Initial conversations with five Spanish VC funds. MVP architecture drafted: cloud-native SaaS on AWS EU-West-1, mobile-first, sensor-integrated.
Program endorsement secured. Founding team relocates to Barcelona. SIU registered as Spanish legal entity. Initial conversations transition to formal investor due diligence.
€1.75M seed round closed. MVP development completed (6–8 months). First Letters of Intent converted to paid pilots. Team scales to 13 across engineering, HSE consulting, and commercial functions.
Three Starter + two Professional tier contracts activated across Spanish H₂ production facilities. Active membership in AeH2 and Hydrogen Europe. First VR scenario library deployed.
Partnership channel activated: EPC contractors, HSE consultancies, insurance partners. First Enterprise contracts. International expansion preparation: Portugal, Netherlands, Germany. NRR > 115%.
Recognized as the de facto H₂ HSE standard in Spain. Active operations across four EU markets. EBITDA-positive. 60 facility customers. €7M+ ARR. Patents granted.
Industrial safety leader with 15+ years across HSE and Environmental Management. Certified Lead Environmental Auditor (IEMA, UK). NEBOSH Diploma holder. MBA from Nexford University. Nine years served as Secretary of the OPTS HSE Committee — a uniquely informed view into how mature safety frameworks actually function across complex multi-stakeholder environments.
Commercial leader with 12+ years in international trade and cross-border B2B. Founder & Managing Director of KALM Trading — built from inception into a multi-territorial commodity brokerage operation. Trilingual (Arabic, French, English). Educated in international business law at Université de Toulouse. Drives commercial expansion across the Maghreb, GCC, and Mediterranean H₂ corridors.
Instrumentation & Control engineer with 20+ years in industrial automation. MSc in Applied Instrumentation & Control Engineering. Former Lead HSE Adviser at NLNG Production Division. Senior Shutdown Engineer responsible for Utilities, Off-sites, Storage & Loading operations. Deep experience in CMMS implementation and the integration of safety systems with industrial instrumentation.
B2B sales leader with 17+ years at GE Gas Power, including a tenure as Sales Director for North Africa. Held responsibility for contract portfolios exceeding $15M annually, with a track record of building sales operations across four countries. Leads commercial development for the European hydrogen market — Spain, Portugal, France, Germany — including enterprise sales, EPC partnerships, and customer success.
We do not ship safety features we cannot defend against the relevant standard. Every module ships with traceable references — ATEX, PED, ISO 19880, IEC 61511.
If a field operator cannot use a feature on a tablet, in gloves, under pressure, in the rain — it does not belong in the platform. Every module is built mobile-first and validated against real operator workflows.
When the platform flags a risk, an operator must be able to see why. AI predictions ship with factor decomposition. ATEX classifications ship with reproducible calculations. No magic.
Universal HSE platforms have served the last energy era. We are not trying to compete with them on breadth — we are defining the category for a fuel they were never built to handle.
Our headquarters are in Barcelona, Spain — chosen deliberately as the epicenter of Spain’s green hydrogen industrial strategy. With 12 GW of planned electrolyzer capacity and €16.3Bn in PERTE funding, the market we serve is on our doorstep.
The team is internationally distributed across Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco, and Spain, bringing multi-jurisdictional HSE experience that no single-market consultancy can match.
If you operate a hydrogen facility, advise one, finance one, or build the equipment that runs in one — we should talk.
